It is an original AR Kits 45 Class super detailed with brass castings and etched brass handrail posted along the body. White Metal side frames have been added to give the model that brutish feel. A book called Shire Horses and Jumbos really described the 45 Class well. Shire Horses were known for their elegant lines even though the were brutish and could lug loads around all day every day. That was the 45 Class to a T. The AR Kits 45 Class was first released back around 1989 and it has been improved on since then. New runs of the model will be out and about this year and will have added improvements and extra detail added. A great model dressed up by a great Modeller.

Well done Justin.

The model is made from an AR Kits MkII 44 Class Kit. It was constructed by Mr J Tolhurst and hand painted by him. Mr Tolhurst is a prolific model builder with extraordinary skills that allows him to use the contents of a kit to deliver an exceptional model. The model is powered by a K&M mechanism and its' hauling capacity is phenomenal. The area behind the screens has been highlighted with grey to give the model that extra depth. It is our pleasure to initiate the photo page with an example of the work of this modeller.
